Resident events during Digital Leaders Week, Monday 14 to Friday 18 June 2021
As a leader in the digital marketplace, we’re delighted to be involved again in this celebratory week for sharing digital ideas and initiatives.
As well as hosting sessions for colleagues in the sector each Gateway is hosting a range of events geared towards helping our citizens use digital technology to get the most out of their locality services.
Digital help and support
Please ask one of our friendly advisors about any digital assistance you require to help you become Better Off. Anything from support with an online form to signing up for online shopping, we are here to help.
This is happening Monday to Friday, 8am to 6pm.
Our advisors will be on hand to demonstrate some of the online support that Salford City Council has to offer, giving our residents the opportunity for a digital tour of some of our online platforms including the Salford City Council website, BetterOff in Salford and Digital Everyone.
This is happening Wednesday to Friday, 8am to 6pm.
Big Digital Quiz
If you are under 16 and would like to join our Big Digital Quiz here at Broughton Hub with the chance to win a prize, please drop in and ask one of our advisors to sign you up! Quiz responses will be received digitally and winners will be contacted by Friday 25 June 2021.

A tour of our BetterOff website on Zoom
Salford City Council’s BetterOff website is designed to show you the benefits you could be entitled to and help you to apply for them online. At the click of a button, you can also find jobs, childcare, and information on debt or money management. Our colleague Jade will be showing citizens how it works via Zoom. Council website support drop-in
Most Salford City Council services are contactable via salford.gov.uk. If you need to contact the council but have never used the website, why not pop into Eccles Gateway on Tuesday or Thursday during Digital Leaders Week? A member of staff will show you how to navigate the site quickly and easily. No appointment required; just drop in during normal opening hours. Eccles Gateway is located at 28 Barton Lane, Eccles, Salford M30 0TU.
One-on-One Tech Clinic
Are you having trouble with one of your devices? Struggling to set up a laptop or install a programme? As part of Digital Leaders Week, staff at Eccles Gateway are available to help you out with your tech problems. This service has limited availability, so please register your interest as soon as possible, and someone will get in touch with you to book you an appointment.
Please note that we are unable to perform any physical repairs, only provide technical assistance and guidance.
Better Off website demonstration drop-in, a member of staff will be on hand to demonstrate the BetterOff website and how you can use it to access a range of help about benefits, jobs, childcare and money management.
This is happening Tuesday 15 June, 10am to 12pm and 2pm to 4pm.
Digital Assistance day
If you need help with anything digital, such as filling in forms, setting up email accounts or navigating the internet, please drop into the centre and our staff will be on hand to assist.
This is happening Thursday 17 June, 10am to 12pm and 2pm to 4pm.
A dedicated member of the Swinton team will be in the foyer area showing how the BetterOff website works. This can help residents become better off, from money management and benefit entitlement checking to job searches and much more.
This is happening Monday to Friday, 8am to 6pm (during all opening hours).
A dedicated member of the Swinton team will show customers the basics of the www on a bigger screen. This can include basics such as Google searches through to setting up email addresses.

Ever wondered how to report your bin not being emptied? Or a streetlight that needs replacing? Drop into Walkden Gateway and our staff will be happy to show you how to do it yourself online.
