Course are non-accredited and free for Greater Manchester residents and workers aged 19+.

Broughton

Subject: First Steps IT

Location: Broughton library at The Broughton Hub, M7 4BQ

Start date: Thurs, 06 February, 1pm - 3:30pm for 8 weeks

The course is great for those wanting to take their first steps at learning introductory digital skills.

The course includes:

  • Using the keyboard and mouse,
  • Using the Internet,
  • Being safe online,
  • Searching online
  • Using Email,
  • All done on a Windows computer.

Eccles

Subject: First Steps to Web Building with HTML and CSS

Location: Eccles Gateway Library, M30 0TU

Start Date: Tues 04 March 2025, 18:00 - 20:30, 4 sessions, once a week.

The course offers an introduction to learning and using a programming language. HTML and
CSS are used mainly to build web sites.

The course includes:

  • The basics of HTML coding to place text, hyperlinks and images onto a web page
  • Linking a number of HTML files together to form an interactive web site
  • The use of CSS to format font type, size, colours, background page colours and more
